I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I’m in love with you.
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
I suggest we learn to love ourselves before it’s made illegal. When will we learn? When will we change?

Remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted. When you feel that this may be the good-bye, the last time, it hits you harder.
Sylvia Plath, The Journals of Sylvia Plath 1950-1962 (via bookmania)
These days man knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.

Shadow from the afternoon sun at the local coffee shop and bookstore.

My favorite ways to stay warm in the winter:
Blankets. I stock up on warm and fuzzy blankets.
Slippers. My floors are all wood, so I wear slippers all year round, but extra warm ones are great in the winter.
Hot drinks. I love hot chocolate in the winter.
My husband. He’s like a furnace, so the best way to keep warm is to lay next to him and soak up his body heat.
